This unit showed the difference in a poor and an effective teacher, it shows how to use gestures, body language and an overall positive attitude to properly engage the class. This is a valuable lesson to a novice teacher and it is shown clearly in a video format. It was also great at showing how to clearly communicate with students that won't completely understand your language.This unit explains how a teacher could deal with potential challenges. We learn how a large class dynamic is different from a small one. We learn about ways to persuade reluctant students to take part in the class activities. We learn how to tackle difficulties with listening to texts. The chapter also stresses the importance of not using the native language in an English class.
