This unit, teaching themes describes some of the techniques which are commonly encountered or used in teaching English to young learners. Particularly. the use of song, dance and chants, game adaptations, stories, arts and crafts as well as seasonal activities and their attraction to younger learners are highlighted. We also consider some internet resources and their applicability.In this unit I have learnt how helpful planning a lesson ahead of time can be. It includes ensuring that I remain flexible but also include enough information so that another teacher could cover for me if necessary. The techniques offered for the Study activities (D,E,GO) and the monitoring, feedback and correction process are well structured and I can see how they would work well.
