Dahlia is a graduate of ITTT's 120-hour online TESOL course. In this TESOL review, she recommends the course for anyone thinking of earning a TESOL or TEFL certificate especially those with backgrounds in teaching and education. ITTT's courses assume no prior teaching knowledge so are suitable for complete beginners to English language teaching or those looking to refresh their skills.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit was talking about passive voice, modals, and phrasal verbs. Modals include can, could, may, might, need to, must, should, etc. Each of them has different purpose when being used in a sentence. Passive voice is used when the agent is not as important or doesn't appear. Phrasal verbs include three different types: intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable. In this unit I learned that whether you teach the very beginner students or the students that have a little knowledge of english, techniques that you use are the same and that the students are all in the same boat - being insecure and uncertain. It depends on the teacher to make them feel at ease even an executive business man coming for a lesson. You must motivate them all the time.
