This module basically emphasizes the importance of receptive (reading and listening) and productive (writing and speaking) skills. In teaching receptive skills, it is very important to identify the purpose of that skills - if it is for predicting, skimming, scanning, for getting detailed information or for deducing meaning from a text. Also, in teaching receptive skills, it is important to get to know your students first and know what interests them before giving examples in a lesson. In choosing topics for a certain lesson, one must make sure to choose topics and examples that are not only relatable to the students, but also interesting to them so that learning will be easy and fun with them and that they will learn new topics with enthusiasm.
