At the start of the teaching career writing lesson plans can become a serious problem. Lesson plans may be too complete, not flexible at all. The more you know your students, the more flexible you get as a teacher, and the better you're at timing activities. I also guess that the same lesson plan may not work with another group of students. It depends on many factors. Some groups perform tasks faster and more easily, another groups need more time. Groups with a good student-student interaction are very good at activate phase and can deal with more difficult tasks.
