This unit focuses on the teacher/learner rapport and explains the characteristics of what makes a good learner and a good student. It also describes which factors are involved in the learning process for different age groups and how the teacher is supposed to take into account all these factors in order to successfully teach English to the students.
Throughout the lecture of this unit I learned that the teacher must adapt his or her teaching to the learners depending on their age, level of English and life experience, as this will allow the students to progress and be motivated to learn a new language. The teacher himself/herself must also be highly motivated, kind and patient in order to be successful at teaching the students English and encourage the less motivated ones.
