Unit 12 focuses on the productive skills of speaking and writing. In both areas it is important to pick topics that interest your students to keep them engaged. Give students the opportunity to work on accuracy and usage of words in the study stage Check for understanding. Students are more relaxed in pairs or groups for creating stories and it gives them more speaking time. In the activate stage the stories they have created are then presented to class for fluency. Give feedback but it is also useful to keep a running record of patterns of misuse of language for future reinforcement. Play games where it is helpful to give students talk time.
