In this unit we learned about classroom management. classroom management is a very important aspect in teaching.classroom management is a quality of a good teacher. how a teacher maintains discipline as well maintains a good rapport with the class makes the lesson effective.
signs and language used in the class plays a very important role. making eye contact with students ,gestures to praise and to correct ,voice intonation ( includes projection, range, clarity, variety in approach.)simple language which is understood by all the students ..level of English language should be according to students level and gradually teacher can help them to improve by regular practice.
workings in groups and pairs can also help in many ways .like increasing student talk time ,building rapport with the students ,helping student to student interaction,making class more relaxed ,shifting from traditional teaching to innovative methods.
working on discipline is always a tough task ..without getting dominant in the class taking the full authority is a skill .it comes though practice. there should be firm rules and code of conduct of school.there are many factors which affect the discipline of the students like family background,peer pressure, class boredom etc. Rapport between the students and teacher and between students and teacher plays important role in making a class successful .
