This Unit emphasizes on many different aspects of classroom management. Classroom management is the skill of organizing and managing the class,having a friendly,relaxed manner and maintaining discipline.
So in order to have good classroom management, the art of using eye contact,gesture and the voice is very crucial and vital. In the unit I have learnt how should they be used and applied. Besides, there are many ways to group students, for example: whole-class grouping,students working individually, pair work,group work and as well as understanding all of their advantages and disadvantages.
Unit also elaborates the pros and cons of orderly rows,circles and horseshoes,separate tables,the teacher's position. Even it teaches the methods of writing on board by avoiding to turn the back to the students during board-work.
As an add up,I have learnt the advantages and disadvantages of teacher talking time and student talking time and therefore how to make balance between the two.
Plus with all above, I also have learnt how to give effective instructions, how to establish rapport and have a closer look at the complex subject of classroom discipline and learnt the methods of maintaining a good discipline among students.
Hence, I find this Unit quite fruitful for me by exploring many different zones and aspects in terms of classroom arrangement.
