In this unit I learned about teaching productive skills. The productive skills in language acquisition, speaking and writing, are equally important in the mastery of a language. The purposes that people have when communicating, in speaking, are some communicative purpose, they want to say something, they want to listen to something, or they are interested in what is being said. The unit explained that speaking is often easier than writing, but it requires more flexibility and fluency. Writing, on the other hand, is often more difficult in terms of accuracy and opportunity for feedback. The most useful part of this unit for me were all of the activity ideas for teaching productive skills in the classroom.
