This unit discusses the various types of teaching aides that can be incorporated into lessons to make lessons not only more engaging for students, but more effective for the teacher's presentation of the content. Some of the aides and resources discussed in this unit are: whiteboards, worksheets, DVD's, CD's, Interactive White Boards (IWB), and Overhead Projectors. With each of these resources, planning and preparation steps must take place in order for the incorporation of them into the lesson to be helpful and not detract from the teaching time. This is especially true for ANY technology resources. The teacher must know how to change settings and operate in the IWB system, turn on and calibrate projectors, change volume, etc. Also, it is important to have other options built into lessons with technology in case problems arise during the lessons that can't be resolved quickly.
