Classroom arrangement is discussed and a list of what factors should be considered is included. The types of arrangements include; orderly rows, circles and horseshoes, separate tables, and the teacher’s position. Writing on the board and how to minimize the amount of time a teacher’s back is faced towards the classroom is explained, as well as giving individual attention and teacher/student talking times. Giving instructions is discussed, including; using simple language, being consistent, using visual clues, and checking the instructions. Practical ways to establish rapport and class spirit are listed. Maintaining discipline, reasons for problem behavior, preventing problem behavior and how to respond to problem behavior is also covered.
