Conditional and Reported Speech was covered in this unit. I’ve heard of Conditional speech previously, but this unit put everything into perspective as far as conditional speech. In this unit I learned that conditionals are sentences that contains “if” which refers to present, past and future speech. The conditional that I had a little trouble understanding is the third conditional which uses if + past perfect, would/could/might + have + past participle. I now understand that the usage is hypothetical past result. For example, if I have practiced cooking when younger, I would have been better. In addition to conditional, I also learned about reported speech and direct speech. In referring to reported speech, verb tenses are really important.
