This course unit went over the use of conditionals and the difference between reported and direct speech. These two subjects can take time to learn, as there can be confusion or subtle similarities between tense. For example, the second conditional uses past simple while the mixed conditional uses past perfect for the if clause. Reporting speech can also seem confusing and takes time to learn, has different tenses in direct speech will most often change when being reported, as an exemption, past perfect usages stay the same. It is important to go over examples and practice carefully.
