After reading unit 5, I learned a lot about classroom management. One thing I learned about was that different ways of grouping students have good points and bad points and all ways have a place in the classroom depending on activity and what the teacher wants to achieve. It was also nice to get advice on how to reduce unnecessary teacher talk time so that student talk time remains high. For example, it's good to use simple language that is below the current level being taught and using miming or gestures to help with understanding. I also found it enlightening to read about ways to avoid and handle problem behavior from the students. It was nice to learn that many problems can be avoided from the teacher's own behavior such as being well-prepared and punctual. I felt this unit had a lot of good advice and important lessons.
