Throughout this unit, I have reflected on my own personal experiences when I was in school and now in my current job in Japan as an ALT. Most schools in Japan prefer arranging class seating individually. Most classes are taught with more TTT than STT, therefore most classes are set up to be more teacher-centred. Although behavioural problems aren't as relevant in my school in Japan, I am now aware of what actions to take, in case disciplinary actions are required.
Some classes in my school aren't as open to me as other classes are and I believe its because I have a poor rapport with them. Reflecting on my past year, there have been moments I have been underprepared or lost face with these classes and I believe it has affected the way they act when they have my class. Moving forward, I hope to apply what I have learned in these classes to create a positive and inspiring learning environment.
