I found this unit useful for me to establish some ground rules in my mind of how to be an effective and engaging teacher. Furthermore, I learnt key information of what is required from students learning English as a foreign language. I hope that in my role as a teacher, I will be able to motivate these attributes in my students. The teacher-student rapport was interesting to learn about, and how fundamentally important this is to the learning of a student. I am looking forward to learning about when to know which role to assume and I am sure this is something that will become more refined with experience as a teacher.
