The learning going on in a classroom is looked at in this unit. Vocabulary may be taught through a number of different activities such as gap fill activities, images, and miming. When it comes to grammar, students must come to understand not only how to construct different sentence types, but when each of these sentences are to be used and for what meaning. This may be achieved through activities such as choral repetition, looking at the language in context, or word order activities, for example. Functions within the language are a set of different useful sentences that the student may use in everyday contexts. The class must still maintain its ESA organization and each stage of a class will have the appropriate types of activities.
