I learnt that there are 2 important basic skills in learning a language 1.repetive skill (reading and listening) 2.productive skill (speaking and writing)and the various reasons for reading and listening are 1.for a purpose 2. entertainment. Reading for a purpose aims solely on the readers mind to extract important information. there are various specialist skills of reading : predictive skills, scanning, skimming, detailed information and deduction from context. all these skills can be use depending on the reader interest.
