I have personally gained a huge amount from this course. It has also reacquainted me with the fundamentals of the english language, while teaching me what is required to be a good teacher. It has helped guide my thoughts, preparations and building of lesson plans, influenced my thinking about what you need to do in a classroom to be effective, as well as given me valuable insights into teaching. Most of all it has given me the confidence to teach english!
My approach throughout this course has been to put into action in the classroom what I have learnt and in this regard the material contained in this course has already been of great benefit. Going forward I plan to continue to review and draw on the course material to guide me in the classroom. I will continue to focus in detail on my lesson plans so that they have the right ingredients to be successful in the classroom. I intend to adopt the ESA framework when planning my lessons and to remain flexible in the classroom situation as circumstances require. I also plan to make sure that my teaching is both effective and fun!
